What is Exodus169?
Exodus169 a science fiction adventure following the 169 year journey of the Exodus spacecraft to colonise the planet Lumina. Our main characters are some of the medical team who struggle to cope with the day to day challenges on board, and also Sam Hagan and Gina Lopez, teenage friends who are coming to terms with the prospect of spending the rest of their lives in outer space.
Our story is told in the form of a beuatifully illustrated graphic novel with a full accompanying soundscape which is recored using a team of talented professional actors.
There is no other story quite like it, or presented in this unique format.
Who created this?
We are a group of writers, producers, artists and musicians, who have grown up mostly in the world of broadcast television, and who are now exploring the wonderful new and exciting world of alternative digital platforms such as smartphones.
We are story tellers with an ambition to excite and thrill. The joy of telling our through through the Exodus169 app is that we can communicate directly with out audience. There is no 'channel' in the way, no corporate executives telling us what our audience will and won't like. We prefer to get out feedback straight from the people reading our stories. We encourage and welcome comments, suggestions and thoughts from app users.
We will respond to our audience, not the man!
Is Exodus169 only on the iphone?
Exodus169 is premiering on the iphone and will then roll out across other platforms. The company behind it is a small group of self-financing writers and artists with no outside investment, so the more iphone and ipad subscribers we get, the more quickly we will be able to launch on other platforms and finish the Exodus169 website which will contain many more exciting features.
The website will be all about you, the user. You will have the opportunity to interact with the Exodus169 story in highly innovative ways: you will get your own pod on board the craft and will be invited to create your own fictional persona. The best of these will be featured in the graphic novel.
That work is underway and its success is dependent on us building an audience for the iphone app. We always want to know what our audience likes, so if you think we ought to be doing something, just head on over to the 'contact' page and let us know.
How do I navigate within the App?
The first time you start the app, you will see the short Exodus169 identity video. The information screen will then appear, and a tap will reveal the home screen.
The information screen can be accessed again at any time by tapping the 'i' symbol in the top right of the home screen.
Once you have opened the app the first time, each subsequeunt time you open it you will go directly to the home screen.
There are 4 primary buttons. (From left to right)
The first takes you to the available episodes of the Exodus169 graphic novel. Move from frame to frame by siping the screen.
The second takes you to the profiles of the main characters in the story.
The third takes you to a series of 'extras', from animated fly-throughs of various areas of the craft to messages from the crew.
The fourth takes you to the Pioneer - our dedicated news service.
At any point in the app, if you wish to return to the home screen, there is usually a back button in the top left of the screen. If it's not present, just tap the screen once and it should appear
Can I be featured in the story?
By registering to reserve your pod, you will be one of the community of 100,000 members who will be able to create a fictional persona within the Exodus169 community. When the Exodus169 website goes live, you will get your own virtual pod from which you will be able to start creating your persona and stories taking place within the craft. Initially these will take the form of blogs and video diaries which you will be able to share with the rest of the community. The best of these characters will be featured by the writers of Exodus169 in the main narrative.

Their destination is the nearest inhabitable planet to Earth: Lumina. It is a one-way journey into the unknown that will last 169 years.
Ten miles long and almost as wide, Exodus is the Earth in miniature, with towns, fields, forests and rivers: a living, breathing biosphere in which its human occupants will have to work together to survive.
From the outset, there are dark forces at work intent on sabotaging the mission. Fourteen year-old Sam Hagan and his best friend, Gina, were too young to have a choice whether they joined the Exodus, and soon they find themselves at the heart of the struggle to save it from destruction.
